Microsoft Windows 9 Vs Microsoft Windows 10

Why did Microsoft skip directly from Windows 8 (or more precisely, Windows 8.1) directly to Windows 10 instead of going to Windows 9? Deeming Windows 9 'too good to release,' Microsoft execs shelve follow-up to Windows 8 and proceed to Windows 10. Recently, Microsoft publicly made the first steps to doing just that, with Windows 10. Skipping the Windows 9 name entirely, Microsoft has now confirmed that the new version of Windows is not Windows 9 as everyone expected, but Windows 10.

Here is a brief interview with the Microsoft Windows Marketing Boss, Tony Prophet:
So, what happened to Windows 9?
"It came and it went," said new Microsoft Windows marketing boss Tony Prophet on Monday on stage at the Dreamforce conference in San Francisco. He was quoting Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella who has been answering that question much the same way.
Microsoft doesn't want people to associate the next version of Windows with the unpopular Windows 8.
"Windows 10 is not going to be an incremental step from Window 8.1," he explained. "Windows 10 is going to be a material step. We're trying to create one platform, one eco-system that unites as many of the devices from the small embedded Internet of Things, through tablets, through phones, through PCs and, ultimately, into the Xbox."
Even the way Microsoft is building Windows 10 is different.
Microsoft is letting people try it way earlier in the development process than ever before, with a new version it calls The Technology Preview.
The Windows 10 Tech Preview version was released two weeks ago and has already been downloaded 1 million times, he said.
Microsoft also did exhaustive testing for Windows 8 before releasing it, 1.24 billion hours. It's just that the Windows team famously didn't listen to the feedback they were getting about how clunky it was to use. Pundits were even calling Windows 8 another Vista months before it even shipped.
But Prophet says Microsoft won't make the same mistake.
"The reason we're doing that is so we can listen to our customers," he says, particularly enterprise users.
That's also different. They were pretty much ignored by Windows 8, which was all about a touch screen for tablets. Many enterprises responded by ignoring Windows 8. They've been upgrading from XP to Windows 7.
"Our objective with Windows 10 is ... to build absolutely the best OS for the enterprise. That's the early focus," Prophet said. "We've got the process. We've got a million people using it. And we're listening."

Celebrating Horn Free Day - Lagos State, Nigeria

Excessive blaring of Car Horns in Lagos has exceeded the norm, turning it into an annoying habit. Everywhere you seem to turn to, the alarm of these Car Horns seem to shake you off balance. It distracts, discomforts, displeases, disturbs and most importantly, it is injurious to the health. It is clinically proved that huge accommodation of sounds could affect the ear sensory organs, thereby subjecting them to partial malfunctioning and sometimes total failure.

The Lagos State Government of Nigeria, has therefore declared today, October 15, 2014, as 'Horn Free Day' across the state. Commuters are enjoined to observe this call as it in the best interest of the citizens.

The Lagos Horn Free Day is an initiative against noise pollution, intolerance, indiscipline and lack of respect to road users. It is, however, hard to believe that Lagosians actually adhered to this call, taking cognizance of the unpalatable behaviour of the drivers of the Public Transport buses, usually known as "Danfo" in times past. This is indeed her (Lagos State) first Horn Free Day Celebration.

We Are All Here For A Common Purpose

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

Bombs over Baghdad
Tryna get something we never heard
Let's start with a good dad
So real but it's so sad
And while we're burning this incense
We gon' pray for the innocent
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense

Let's talk about chi-town
Let's talk about Gaza
Let's talk about
Let's talk about Israel
Right now it is real
Let's talk about
Let's talk Nigeria, and the mass hysteria
Our souls are brought together so that we could love each other brother

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

No guns made in Harlem
But yet Crime is a problem
He wanna shine, he wanna rob 'em
Single mother, where they come from?
How we gonna save the nation
With no support for education
Cause right now it don't make sense
Right now it don't make sense

Let's talk about our part
My heart touch your heart
Let's talk about
Let's talk about living
Had enough of dying
Not what we all about
Let's do more giving
Do more forgiving, yeah
Our souls are brought together so that we can love each other sister

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here

We are here
We are here for all of us
We are here for all of us
It's why we are here, why we are here
We are here
